Modernized 70+ portals with a unified identity system.
🔑 Core Goals:
- Consolidate fragmented identity systems across 70+ portals and 9 mobile apps.
- Provide users with a single sign-on experience using HealthSafe ID (HSID).
- Reduce confusion, friction, and duplicate credential issues across domains.
- Create a scalable and modern identity system for future growth.
🔍 Problems We Were Solving:
- Each portal had its own login/registration UI, leading to inconsistency and poor user experience.
- Legacy systems made onboarding new portals slow and error-prone.
- Registration had high drop-off rates due to portal-specific eligibility requirements and identifiers.
- Difficult to maintain unified UX, security standards, and analytics.
🛠️ My Contributions:
- Led UI/UX modernization and backend redesign to support domain consolidation.
- Collaborated with engineering, design, and legal to balance security + usability.
- Created an integration SDK to help legacy portals migrate more easily.
- Spearheaded monthly analytics reviews with dashboards (Adobe + Splunk) to track login, registration, and eligibility trends.
- Advocated for a modular architecture to decouple authentication (AuthN) from authorization/eligibility (AuthZ).
- Used data + stakeholder engagement to drive portal migrations onto the unified platform.
- Simplified the onboarding playbook for new portals.
🚀 Results:
- Reduced user confusion by enabling a single credential for multiple portals.
- Improved user trust and brand consistency with consolidated domain and MFA.
- Gained exec support by tying registration success to reduced call center volume, Qualtrics reviews, and MFA adoption metrics.
- Created a scalable foundation that supported future feature additions like Fast Track and adaptive auth.
